EP 18: Mindful Reiki Energy Healing Meditation with Mudras


#18 | July 12, 2021 This is a Mindful Reiki Energy Healing Meditation utilizing different Mudras.  

A Mindfulness and Reiki Energy Healing meditation practice can support the intention of awakening self-awareness and allowing the embodiment of your Light in physical form to allow the authentic self to be integrated into the human experience more fully for highest good.   We like to layer tools to support the most efficient clearing, healing and to elevate consciousness with ease and grace for highest good. So, this meditation includes using mudras!  

According to Ayurvedic medicine (Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems developed more than 3,000 years ago in India), practicing mudras can balance the body’s subtle energy centers, creating access to higher states of meditation and overall well-being.  

So, mudras are powerful tools. Mudra, which means “seal” in Sanskrit, is a gesture practiced with your hands and fingers. Through pressing, touching, curling or pointing our fingers or hands in different ways, we can direct energy flow to specific parts of the body and brain, stimulating particular emotions, reactions and effects. Different areas of the hands are connected with areas in the body and the brain. When paired with Mindful Reiki, pranayama (breathing exercises), mudras have the ability to stimulate and direct the flow of prana (life force) in your body and influence overall mood and support uplifting vibration even more. The use of mudras are incredible tools for self-care and empowerment. They allow us to go inward and recharge our energy levels.  

1. Gyan Mudra, Seal of Knowledge: The Gyan Mudra is the mudra of wisdom, because it joins the divine finger (thumb) with the finger of self (index finger). It brings in knowledge, expands our field of possibilities and releases us from limitations. It is related to expansion, wisdom and higher consciousness. It is calming and it can bring openness and ease in meditation. It sharpens the brain, empowers the mind, nervous system, endocrine system and pituitary gland.  

2. Shuni Mudra Seal of Patience: By Bringing the tip of the middle finger and thumb together, uniting the elements of fire and connection. This mudra symbolizes patience and discipline, and helps us generate a feeling of stability. Use this mudra when you feel you need additional strength to follow through with tasks.  

3. Surya Mudra, Seal of Life: The Surya mudra gives us vitality and aliveness. It represents balance, energy, endurance, health and vitality. It can help encourage positive change in your life and speed up metabolism and stimulate digestion.  

4. Buddhi Mudra, Seal of Communication or Seal of Mental Clarity: The Buddhi Mudra aids clear and open communication. It helps balance the water element and the prevention of all diseases which are related to lack of water (e.g. dry skin and eyes). This mudra also helps with gaining higher understanding and discerning intuitive messages to gain knowledge. 

Try utilizing mudras in your meditation practice as well is if you are in line at a grocery store and need some extra support.  Connect your breath to the mudra and see how fast you can begin to be an energy master.
